Postage is a flat rate because it keeps the checkout simple. On some destinations it is less than our actual cost and on others it is more.
Collection. If you choose collection at checkout we will telephone you to arrange a time. The operation is a working mine site — please do not arrive unannounced.
We deliver within Australia only. We do not ship pails overseas.
Remote and island destinations may take longer. We do not deliver to PO boxes for this item because of its weight.
All bulk pricing is ex factory, Glen Allyn. That means the price covers the goods loaded onto your transport at our site. Freight is separate.
Freight is quoted with the order. It varies considerably with destination, quantity and access, and we cannot publish a rate that would be meaningful. Tell us the delivery address and we will quote it.
You are welcome to arrange your own carrier. If you do, tell us who is coming and when.
Bulk deliveries arrive on a semi-trailer or truck and dog unless we agree otherwise. Before you order, satisfy yourself that:
If a vehicle attends and cannot unload for reasons within your control, you are responsible for the carrier's charges, including any return-to-depot or re-delivery fee.
Any delivery date we give is an estimate made in good faith, not a contractual commitment. Wet weather closes roads on the Tablelands and in the Far North for days at a time, and we will not put a loaded truck onto a road that is not safe.
We are not liable for loss arising from a delay in delivery, to the extent permitted by law. We will keep you informed.
Risk passes to you on loading at Glen Allyn, or on delivery to the carrier, whichever is earlier. Where you arrange your own transport, risk passes when the goods are loaded onto your vehicle.
Title does not pass until payment is received in full — see clause 6 of the Terms of Sale.
Check the delivery before the driver leaves. Note any damage or shortage on the consignment note and photograph it.
Tell us within 7 days of delivery on 1300 082 011 or at info@theblackstuff.com.au if anything is wrong. Keep the packaging until the matter is resolved. Claims made after the goods have been spread cannot usually be substantiated.
The Black Stuff is supplied moist, and in that state it generates no dust. Keep it covered and it stays that way.
If it is allowed to dry out it produces a fine dust, and the handling precautions in the Safety Data Sheet then apply — P2 mask, sealed goggles, gloves, long sleeves, and work upwind. Bulk bags have spouts top and bottom so a spreader can be filled without opening the bag.
Further detail is in the Safety Data Sheet.
Tell us as soon as possible. We can usually change or cancel a pail order before despatch. Once a bulk order has been loaded or a carrier engaged, cancellation charges may apply — we will tell you what they are before you commit.
Ring 1300 082 011. Freight to a difficult site is much better sorted out on the telephone before you order than discovered on the day.
